Resilient stone castles perched on land’s edge, reached only by centuries-old bridges … graceful undulating pathways amongst verdant mossy hillsides … dramatic rocky outcroppings bearing crystal waterfalls … opportunity for sightings of otters, eagles and all manner of wildlife.
Join us for a spectacular adventure hopping between the northwest Scottish Inner Hebrides islands and immerse yourself in the finest Highland scenery. Enjoy the remarkable diversity of Northwest Scotland on daily guided walks along the rugged slopes of the towering mountains of Glencoe and the white sandy beaches of Iona. Discover the extraordinary wildlife of Mull and the wild landscapes and geological wonders of the Isle of Skye. Explore the historical landmarks and magnificent castles of the Highlands and enjoy the legendary Scottish hospitality in our carefully selected hotels, family-owned inns and superb restaurants.
The trip is designed for seasoned travelers, keen to experience wild Scottish countryside on foot while also using a wide range of different transportation modes, including the extensive network of ferry services connecting the islands. We change location often requiring multiple transfers. When using public transportation, you must be able to carry your daypack and luggage unassisted over a few hundred yards to the ferry pier, the local bus station or our accommodation.
The trip is for the moderately active hiker. The hikes vary in difficulty from 4 to 7 miles and 2 to 4 hours in remote countryside and over sometimes rough, rocky terrain with significant ascents.
